I am having trouble importing the maps past files into QGIS – the xml file lined on the website appears empty and so saving the images and importing them into GIS does not allow for them to have a projection assigned - hoping there's an easy solution?

Hi Rebecca.
Sorry about that - we moved to a new server and there was a typo in the updated xml files.
Download the QGIS xml file again and it should work.
